LESSON 3 - FIRST RECONCILIATION LEARNING CENTER - CELEBRATING THE SACRAMENT

GOD'S LOVE GIVES ME A NEW START
Please watch the video and answer the questions below.
Share what the story means to you.
What made Zacchaeus happy?
How did Zacchaeus show that he had changed?

When we make up with someone we have hurt we need to change.  Discuss with one another the need to “make up” with those we have hurt.  Give an example of how forgiveness can be experienced anywhere, but especially within your family, and how change is important to starting over.

Zacchaeus was forgiven.  He made up for any wrong he had done by paying back what he had taken. (Luke 19:1-10)  We too can make up when we have done something wrong.

Complete the following sentences:

When I fight with a family member, I make up by ________________.
When I disobey a rule, I make up by _________________.
When I am unkind to a sister, brother or friend, I make up by ________________.
When I hurt someone at school, I make up by ___________________.

Here are some ways I can make up:
 - Admit I was wrong.
 - Ask for forgiveness.
 - Try to do better.
 - Shake hands, hug or say "I'm sorry".
Reconciliation is all about forgiveness and a new start after confessing your sins!
